Fabulous Historic Equestrian Farm

This wonderful historic family farm is a century-old property located in Ribatejo region of Portugal.

The property has had a strong established tradition in some typical activities related to the region – Lusitano horse breeding and wine producion also the other emblematic cultures such as tomatos, corn and wheat.

The farm is approximately 26 hectares, it literally oozes history and boasts many special, fascinating features. The house and buildings are harmoniously settled in the middle of the land which is in turn situated in an area of natural beauty.

The Main House

Although not large is very charming with many original features and the sun light really enhances the rooms.  There is a lovely walled garden which on 2 sides has many extra rooms currently serving as an art studio, wine tasting room and offices.

In front of the house is a large courtyard area and ample farm buildings offering so much  opportunity potential for a business in Rural/Equestrian Tourism and Wine Tourism.

Wine Production

In fact the farm still has a successful wine production business producing red and white wines. The vineyards have both Portuguese grape varieties and they also blend the grapes with other varieties from elsewhere. Over the years they have won many awards and are still providing wines to shops/supermarkets in Portugal and overseas. Some of the spaces were used for wine presentation and tasting, a small function room for private parties.

There is the potential to continue the wine business.

To one side of the fram yard area there is an impressive a huge pavilion that has in the past been used for weddings and functions. It has enough space to comfortably seat up 400 people.

The property has ample natural water sources around the farm there are several water wells and collection points and also a large depository that a long time ago would have been used for many purposes including washing clothes. During the summer months the family enjoyed this natural pool for swimming. Alongside the pool there is a large lawn area and an old orange grove.
