Many villages and towns have their own festivals it is not unusual to drive through a rural village to find the streets are adored with ribbons, flags and lights. The Lusitano horse plays a large part in many cultural activities sometimes in competitions and displays and sometimes just being paraded through the streets to arrive a the central party.

Breeders can show off their top horses in showing classes, in-hand or ridden and riders can show off their new or existing competition horses. Some people take their horses to show potential buyers and some take their young horses for the experience. The Fairs are places full of a buzzing, competitive atmosphere, in some of the most spectacular locations and towns in the Country.
