Lessons and Luxury
You can have ridden dressage lessons in the large scenic arena, learn the La Donaira way in natural horsemanship, take a ride into the mountains or simply have a horse drawn carriage tour around the farm.
The Lusitanos
They have high school trained Lusitanos available for lessons many are of their own breeding. The lesson horses suit all level riders from amateur up to advanced.
If you fancy something more laid back you can enjoy a stunning hack through the mountains to see the early morning views. Or even more laid back is a carriage tour of the farm.
Horsemanship / Liberty Work
Learn all about how to build trust and confidence with horses of all ages.
You will have the opportunity to work closely with the horses at the farm under the highly experienced and watchful eye of Seamus. It is an exceptional chance to really gain an insight into how horses communicate.
This can help you in everything you do with your own horses from handling to riding.
Seamus has worked on the farm for the last 12 years. He works with all the horses right from birth sensitivity teaching them to be confidence with all contact and handling.

Dressage Lessons
No matter what riding level you are Donaira are able to provide dressage lessons ridden and in hand work. The horses are professionally trained, and many are able to perform high school exercises and will provide you with a great feeling.
Lessons are individual or with one other one hour in a fabulous arena that has 180 degree mountain views. Wonderful fresh, clean air and friendly helpful instructors will take you through the paces. Afterwards you can relax with a cool drink in the viewing gallery and simply enjoy the riding and horses.

Farm Rides
Riding out on the farm not to be missed it is a fabulous, exhilarating experience. Best times are in the early morning and late afternoon for sunrise and sunset. The mountain views at these times are spectacular throughout the year.
The Lusitanos used for riding out are calm but forward and really fun.
All levels of riders can enjoy the trip with Johanna as your guide. Johanna ensures a fabulous ride coupled lots of interesting information about the farm and the horses. You will be able to see the Lusitano herds, the cattle, sheep and the wonderful free range chickens! Climb to the top of the mountains and look back across the farm. Be sure to have your phone with you to take some memorable pics.
The Lusitanos are tacked in super comfortable Spanish traditional working saddles that simply like sofas.

Lessons are individual and designed around your ability and what it is you are most interested to learn, experience and fine tune. They do have helmets available however it is recommended you bring your own riding attire with correct footwear, helmet and riding trousers. Also sun protection is recommended.
The Equestrian Team
The Equestrian Team are professional, friendly and knowledgeable no matter what riding experience you have they will enure you have a great time and positive contact with the horses. Even if you don´t want to ride you can simply be around the horses and enjoy the viewing gallery to watch the riding during the day. If you arrive early enough in the morning you will catch Seamus with the stunning team of horses leveling the arena in preparation for the day. It makes quite a sight !
